BECOME A FOSTER PARENT WITH NORTH BERGEN PURR!

Fostering is providing a loving temporary home for a cat or kittens in need until they find their forever family. You'll shower them with care and cuddles, helping them blossom and get ready for adoption. 

We work with your schedule! Whether you can offer a few weeks or a few months, your contribution makes a huge difference. Fostering moms with kittens typically need a bit longer, but we'll match you with the perfect friend based on your availability and experience. 

You'll be responsible for their daily routine of feeding, cleaning their litter box, and showering them with love and playtime. We provide everything you need to care for your foster cat, including food, litter, and all the necessary supplies. While donations of food and litter are always appreciated, they are not required to become a foster parent. 

Many of our foster cats are friendly strays rescued from the streets. Once you complete our foster application, we'll connect you with a cat that matches with your level of cat experience, schedule, etc.

Absolutely! Many of our fosters have pets already. We'll provide guidance on safely introducing your foster to your furry family or creating a dedicated space for them until they're ready to meet. 

North Bergen Purr covers all medical expenses and can even help with food costs, while you provide your foster cat with love and a cozy home.

Most of our cats are healthy and happy! Sometimes, due to their background, they might have a minor cold easily treated with antibiotics. We'll provide all the medication and teach you how to administer it if needed. 

We showcase our adorable fosters on our website and social media, and host adoption events at local pet stores. We can also arrange meet-and-greets between potential adopters and their purrfect match.
